Action Comics #1 is the legendary debut of Superman, created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, and widely regarded as the birth of the superhero genre. Published by National Allied Publications (later DC Comics), the issue featured Superman lifting a car on its iconic cover and introduced readers to Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and the concept of a hero with superhuman strength, speed, and moral resolve.
The original anthology also included stories like Zatara the Master Magician, Chuck Dawson, and Tex Thomson, but it was Superman’s 13-page adventure that captured imaginations and launched a cultural phenomenon. With a print run of 200,000 copies that quickly sold out, Action Comics #1 became the most valuable comic book in history, with pristine copies selling for millions.
