The issue opens with a violent assault on a West African quarry by forces of Khonshu and Ra, now fused into a terrifying Moon Knight entity expanding across the continent. T’Challa, King of Wakanda, receives reports from spies and faces internal pressure from Shuri and others who demand action. A religious faction called the Vodu-Khan, led by Matron Imala, introduces philosophical tension within Wakanda’s leadership. Meanwhile, Killmonger and a mysterious warrior named Wind-Rider (reminiscent of Storm) clash in the wilds of Africa, hinting at deeper mythic forces at play. During Wakanda’s annual celebration of life, a suicide bombing shakes the nation, and T’Chaka sacrifices himself to save his son, prompting T’Challa to declare war.
