Batman Beyond #1, Rebirth Era, Blank Cover Comic
Released 10/26/2016
TERRY McGINNIS RETURNS TO A CITY RULED BY JOKERZ! Batman Beyond #1, written by Dan Jurgens with art by Bernard Chang, kicks off “The Return” storyline as Terry reclaims the mantle of Batman in a Gotham still reeling from destruction. The Jokerz gang, inspired by rumors of the original Joker’s return, has taken over entire districts and unified under a brutal new leader. As Terry battles through chaos to rescue his friend Dana, he must confront his own rustiness and doubts about living up to Bruce Wayne’s legacy.
This issue blends explosive action with gritty urban tension, setting the stage for a new era of Batman Beyond in the DC Rebirth continuity. With Chang’s dynamic layouts and Jurgens’ character-driven script, it’s a high-stakes reentry for Terry—and a warning that Gotham’s future is far from safe.
